Before you start

  • Your landing page and available reports depend on your shop and access.
  • Quoted, sold, invoiced and collected amounts measure different stages of work.

1Choose the dashboard for the task

Use Work dashboard, Sales dashboard or Company dashboard to switch among the views your login can access. Owners can see Operations Overview and Sales Overview; other users may land on their personal work or sales view. Check the heading and selected scope before interpreting totals.

2Set the Company reporting period

Company Overview offers 7d, 30d, 90d, 6mo, 1y, YTD and Custom. Custom lets you select or enter a date window. Check the shop location where available. Hide imports excludes migrated work from the affected metrics; use the same setting when comparing periods.

Activities Today and Live Crew describe current operations. They do not become historical snapshots when you change the reporting period. Read the individual chart's labels as well: the revenue forecast has its own time horizon.

3Read each Company metric's definition

Hover the metric labels to read their explanations. Activities Today counts today's scheduled job activities. Open Quotes counts quotes created in the selected period that are not closed as won or lost; viewed and other open statuses count too. Sales measures won work using linked quote totals, rather than cash collected. Total Jobs describes jobs with an install in the selected period, separated into completed and not completed.

Company card links open the regular Schedule, Quotes or Jobs pages. They do not automatically carry the card's period or status rules into those pages. Check the destination view and filters before comparing its records with the figure. The Company Sales card is informational; Shop Analytics offers separate View list drill-downs.

4Focus the Work dashboard

In Operations Overview, set Work dates and Activity, then use the available department or job-title filters. My assignments and Team change the scope. Search work narrows jobs or assignees. Summary, Cards and Lists provide different presentations of the same work; use the queue choices, Previous/Next and Show more to inspect additional records. Refresh work reloads the current results.

Review Upcoming work, Waiting for info, Revisions & issues, Material attention and Needs scheduling. The queue labels explain their ordering. One activity can appear in more than one queue, so adding queue totals does not give a unique job count. Activity breakdown lets you focus on an activity type.

5Use the Work calendar and queues

Week at a Glance offers Week and Month, date navigation, Work or My tasks, and a Calendar category filter. Show more expands a busy date. Work without a scheduled date appears separately below the grid.

Queue rows offer controls such as status, Edit activity, Files & drawings and Open job according to access. Changing an activity updates the underlying work; it is not merely a dashboard filter. Inspect Queue setup to understand the shop's queue definitions before changing them.

6Review Sales tasks and follow-ups

The Sales dashboard brings together My Tasks, Assigned to Me, Quotes to Follow Up and Week at a Glance. The week view can show Quotes or Tasks; quote dates can be based on Created, Updated or Sent. Check which basis is selected before looking for a quote on a date.

Your Sales offers 30d, 90d, YTD and All, with Open quotes, Won, Win rate and Quotes created. These figures describe sales activity, not invoice balances or payments. Use View pipeline for the corresponding pipeline workflow.

7Arrange the dashboard

Open Page Layout. Drag sections or use their arrows to reorder them, choose Full, Half or Third widths, and hide or show sections. Check Layout preview; narrow screens stack the cards vertically.

Save My Layout saves a personal arrangement. Use shop default removes that personal override. Where permitted, Save as Shop Default changes the starting arrangement for people without a personal layout. Reset restores the standard draft arrangement; review it before saving. Close the editor to leave draft changes unsaved.

Use a section's collapse control or Collapse all to reduce the information shown. Hiding or rearranging a section does not grant access to restricted information.

8Review the shop's queue definitions

Queue setup maps event types into departments and identifies waiting, revision, completed and cancelled statuses. Workflow to browse filters the choices you see; it does not clear existing selections. Expand a group to inspect its checkboxes. Job title dashboards opens the title-to-event mappings.

Save mappings changes the shop's queue rules across its views. Cancel leaves the draft unchanged. Unmapped events remain in All activity and are flagged for review; a department filter is not proof that such work does not exist.

9Compare reports and source records

Open the intended Analytics report and check its own date, location and other filters. Read its metric definitions and use an export control only where that report offers one. Compare a recognizable source record with the stated measure.

For margin and costing, inspect missing material costs, labor rates, durations and overhead. Estimates based on incomplete inputs are not reconciled accounting profit. Quoted, won, invoiced and collected values measure different stages of work.

10Read Shop Analytics charts and drill-downs

Shop Analytics has its own period picker. View list on supported metric cards opens the underlying records, including the stated record count and dates. Inspect that list before comparing a card with an unrelated job or quote view. Use Expand chart for a larger chart and Close to return.

Sales trend shows a fixed nine-month window of actuals and weighted projections. Pipeline value and Money going cold are live snapshots. The pipeline funnel shows stages reached by quotes created in the selected period; its stages are cumulative. These are different populations and should not be added together.

Slab yield & waste uses actual saved layouts and displays coverage and excluded data. Gross margin describes modeled job costs and their coverage. Read those notes, missing-data messages and tooltips before treating a figure as a complete shop result. Salesperson performance, lost reasons and quote velocity describe their own sales stages and periods.

11Review weekly reports and PDF downloads

Weekly Owner Report lists saved reporting periods, headlines and email status. Choose PDF beside the intended period to download its report. The saved period remains that report's scope even if you change the Analytics page's picker.

Generate now computes or refreshes the previous full week's report; that manual action does not send an email. The Monday emails control changes automatic owner delivery. Review the shop's intended delivery setting before changing it.

Ask SlabOS opens the business-data assistant. Check any answer against its stated scope and source records; it does not replace missing costs, assignments or recorded activity. Team task creation and follow-up actions have separate guides.

Check the result

  • You can identify the period, scope and stage of work represented by the number.
  • A sample underlying record agrees with the report's stated measure.

If something looks wrong

  • Different figures may use different dates or statuses. Check definitions before treating the difference as an error.
  • Review duplicated imports or missing cost inputs on their source records rather than editing report totals.
