Before you start

  • Use a clear, tightly framed image that represents the physical edge profile, such as a PNG or JPEG. The upload limit is 3 MB. The edge price, drawing geometry and profile illustration are separate settings.
  • You need price-list editing access to maintain the illustration and the appropriate template access to change its document display. Use a practice quote to inspect the result before sending it.

1Open the correct price list and edge row

Open the intended price list in editing mode and choose Finished Edges. Check the edge name and price before changing its illustration. An image belongs to that price-list rule; do not assume an identically named row in another list has the same image.

2Check the material-type tab

All Materials contains the default rows. A material-type tab shows its specific rows and any inherited defaults. A type-specific price wins for that type. If the row is inherited, open All Materials to maintain the original row. Check the selected rule on the actual quote instead of creating an unnecessary pricing override just to add a picture.

3Upload the profile illustration

On a row without an image, choose + Edge image and select the file. Wait for Edge image saved and the thumbnail. Uploading saves the image immediately through its own action. It does not wait for the page's Save Changes button, and Cancel is not an undo for an uploaded image.

The illustration should make the finished cross-section easy to recognize. Uploading it does not change the countertop outline, finished-edge length or charged price.

4Replace or remove an existing image

Choose Replace below the existing thumbnail to upload a different illustration. To remove it, hover over the thumbnail and choose Remove image. Replacement and removal also save immediately. Removing an image keeps the edge rule and its price; it removes the illustration used by previews.

5Reopen and verify the catalog row

Reopen the price list and return to the same tab and row. Confirm the thumbnail, name, rate and conditions. Complete any other intended price-list edits with their normal controls and Save Changes. If an upload failed, correct the file or connection and retry; do not assume the old thumbnail was replaced.

6Select the edge for the quote area

In the quote's Materials & Slabs step, select the intended finished edge for the relevant area and save the quote. Check any additional edge-profile choices as well. The drawing's boundary assignments in Draw & Apply Edges determine where finished edges and other edge types apply; a catalog picture does not apply those assignments for you.

Edge 1 is the area's primary finished profile. Additional selectors appear for additional finished-edge types used on the drawing. Each area can have its own choices. Check the named edge lines and rates in Summary & Pricing. When editing a saved quote, choose Save → Save & Continue, then Skip note & save or Save with note in the revision-note prompt. Wait for saving to finish before previewing.

7Enable the Drawing field's profile display

In Settings → Templates, open the document template and select its Drawing field. Enable Show edge profiles above the legend. This is separate from Include measurements, Include seams and Include material / slab image. Complete saves the template.

The illustrations come from the quote's selected area profiles and its price list. The drawing band shows up to eight selected profile illustrations and their captions. Image proportions are preserved; excess whitespace in the source picture can make the profile appear small.

8Inspect the actual quote PDF

Select that document template on the saved quote and open its PDF preview. Wait for the document to finish rendering, then inspect the profile image, caption, drawing, legend and page boundaries. The exact band position depends on the document's print layout, so use the rendered PDF as the check.

Review the area's selected edge and pricing summary separately. An illustration helps explain the physical finish; it does not establish its rate or prove that every intended boundary was assigned correctly.

9Troubleshoot a missing or unexpected picture

Check the quote's price list, the image on the applicable edge rule, the area's selected profile and the Drawing field setting on the template actually chosen for that quote. Reopen the saved quote after changing the catalog. If similarly named profiles have different illustrations, check the actual selected rule rather than relying on its caption alone.

A previously signed document is a saved record. Changing a catalog illustration or template does not replace that signed document. Review a new preview before intentionally sending an updated document.

Check the result

  • The intended profile image appears with the applicable drawing information in the PDF.
  • The area's selected edge and its charged rate still match the quote.

If something looks wrong

  • If the image is absent, check the catalog image, area's selected edge and template display option.
  • A previously signed document is a saved record; changing the catalog image does not replace that signed document.
