Before you start

  • Link the quote to an account and confirm the project address, quote content and your shop's approval requirements. A standalone quote needs an account before conversion.
  • Conversion creates a job from the quote. It is separate from sending a customer email, recording a signature or creating an invoice.

1Check the saved quote

Confirm the customer account, project address, drawing and total. Save drawing and pricing changes first. Follow your shop's approval requirements; manually converting a quote does not record a customer's signature.

2Open the conversion dialog

Choose Convert to Job on the quote. Review the warning before confirming; the conversion cannot be undone from that dialog. Cancel or close the dialog to leave before submitting the conversion.

3Choose an event template

Select the event template that matches this work, or choose No events. The dialog shows each template's name, event count, Default badge where applicable, and an auto-scheduling indicator when enabled. It does not preview individual events or provide a scheduling toggle. Review Settings → Templates → Events for the template's activity, duration, assignment and scheduling defaults before converting.

4Understand No events

No events creates the job without events from a template. It does not discard the quote's project information. Add the required events on the job afterward.

5Convert once

Review the selected workflow and confirm Convert to Job. Wait for the job page to open. If the handoff is interrupted, inspect the quote's existing job link before creating separate work. A change order belongs to its existing job and cannot be converted into a second job.

6Review Job Info and the site

Check the job number, name, account and job address. Some blank quote address fields use account information as a fallback, so verify the actual site. Use Edit Info or Edit Address to correct this job's details.

7Inspect events and assignments

Jump to Events and check every generated event. With auto-scheduling off, events are created unscheduled without dates or times. Review assignees, date, time, duration and status before dispatching work. Use Add an event for extra work. Changing a reusable template is not a bulk update to existing job events.

8Review the linked quote and layouts

Jump to Quote to inspect the saved drawing, area breakdown and total. View Layouts opens the material layout review. Slabs held for the quote can become job allocations during conversion; inspect actual allocations rather than assuming stock has been physically consumed.

9Check transferred files

Jump to Files and review the attachments carried from the quote. Upload missing site information and organize it using the folder controls. File presence, customer visibility and crew visibility are separate settings; check each deliberately.

10Handle documents and billing separately

Review the customer portal and send any intended communication through its normal controls. Use the invoice controls when you need to bill; conversion does not automatically create a fixed deposit-and-balance invoice schedule.

11Continue through the existing links

Go To Quote in the job's quote summary returns to the saved quote. The quote's job link returns to the same job. Use these links to continue the project and correct its details without creating duplicate work.

Check the result

  • The new job links to the correct quote and account.
  • Events and assignees match the selected template, or no events were created when that was selected.

If something looks wrong

  • If the job has unexpected events or dates, review the event template selected at conversion.
  • Do not convert a second quote just to repair job details; inspect the existing quote-job link first.
