Customize and navigate a job page

Arrange your job page, configure tracker cards and colors, restore hidden fixtures, and inspect drawings and phase work.

Read the workflow steps

For office users and project managers. These steps describe the signed-in app; watching the videos here does not require an account.

1. Find the job and use its jump links

Open the job from Jobs and read its number, name and account. Review Job Info and Job Address before changing work. Edit Info and Edit Address open different sets of fields.

The sticky Jump to row keeps section shortcuts within reach. Choose Job Info, Fixtures, Events, Phases, Quote, Forms, Files or another available destination. A jump opens its collapsed section. Links depend on the job's records and visible page sections.

Use a section's heading to collapse or expand it, or Collapse all and Expand all to change the collapsible cards together. Some embedded panels have their own controls. Job Issue, Board and the top action bar open separate workflows.

2. Read status and tracker evidence

The tracker strip summarizes quote acceptance, material ordering and receipt, template progress, fabrication and completion with your shop's configured rules. A tracker is calculated from its source records; clicking its card opens its configured destination rather than marking the work done.

Job status, a phase's status and an individual event's status describe different levels of work. A completed Template event does not by itself mean the whole job is complete. Events assigned to phases appear inside those phases; Unphased Events lists the remaining events.

3. Open the tracker editor and choose a card

Choose Trackers above the strip. The caption identifies Job override or Shop default; the editor also identifies Standard cards when no custom default is stored. Live job preview uses this job's current records.

Select a card on the left. Card name changes its heading independently of event names. Use Add card for a new card, Duplicate card for a copy, the up/down arrows to reorder, Visible or Hidden to toggle it, and Remove card to remove that card from the draft. Removing a tracker does not delete its underlying events. The editor supports up to 24 cards.

Discard edits returns to the loaded configuration. Reload saved fetches the currently saved version. Neither button applies a new configuration to the job.

4. Choose the tracker's status source

Read status from offers Quote acceptance, Material ordered, Material received, the standard Template and Fabrication rules, Job / installation completion, or Selected activities and statuses. Choose the source that answers what this card should report.

Material received includes a Receipt rule. Existing material status uses the furthest received status; All non-cancelled purchase orders received requires the relevant orders to be received. Inspect the real job preview before choosing the stricter rule.

Open Why these states? beneath the preview to inspect the source explanation and matching event evidence. Changing display rules does not edit those source records.

5. Match custom activities and phases

Choose Selected activities and statuses for a custom progress card. Expand Activity types to monitor and select the intended types. Browse workflow filters the choices shown; it is not itself the rule that binds the card to events.

Phase can restrict the card to one phase or leave it on Whole job. Specific activities is optional and replaces type matching with the selected event records. Check this carefully when a job has several events of the same type.

A card referencing a specific phase or specific activities belongs to this job. Set as shop default is disabled until you replace those references with reusable activity-type rules.

6. Define completion and the displayed result

Expand Done statuses, In-progress statuses, Waiting statuses and Cancelled statuses (excluded), and review the checked values. Use your shop's actual status names. Reopened events are evaluated from their current status.

Complete when can require all matching activities, any matching activity, or at least a specified number. Display can show Status, Completed / total, or Next scheduled date. No matching activities is different from completed work.

Read the live result and Why these states? after each change. For example, one complete event out of two can satisfy Any while leaving All incomplete; the Completed / total display still reports the actual count.

7. Set base and status colors

In Card colors, set the base Card background and Text colors. Colors by status can override them for Not started, In progress, Waiting and Done. Check both the sample card and the live job preview.

Waiting inherits the In progress colors unless you set its own. Automatic text chooses readable contrast on a custom background. Reset clears that individual override and returns it to its inherited or standard color; it does not reset the entire tracker.

8. Customize labels and click destinations

Expand Status labels, accents and click destination. Replace the automatic done, current, pending or waiting labels when your shop needs different wording. Accent colors are separate from the full card background and text controls.

Card click destination can be Activities, Quote, Forms, Files or No jump. Choose a destination that helps users inspect this card's evidence. Phased events remain inside their phase, so use Phases to inspect those events when necessary.

9. Save trackers at the intended scope

Use for this job only saves a tracker override shared by everyone opening this job. It is not a private preference. Reopen Trackers to confirm the saved name, rules and colors.

Use shop default removes this job's override and makes it follow the shop's configuration. With the required access, Set as shop default saves the draft for jobs without an override and makes this job follow it too. Other jobs with their own overrides keep them.

If a save reports that someone changed the configuration, reload the saved version and review it before applying your changes again.

10. Arrange the page with Page Layout

Choose Page Layout in the job's top action bar to open Job Page Layout in Templates. Top row — three columns arranges the cards above the full-width sections. Drag rows or use the arrows to reorder them; drag a top-row card into another column to move it across.

Full-width sections — top to bottom controls the larger sections below. Use the eye control to hide or show a section. The live preview illustrates the arrangement, using sample content rather than this job's actual data.

Layout changes control order and visibility. Owner-only cards keep their permissions, and sections that hide themselves when empty can still be absent from a real job.

11. Save your personal layout or a shop default

Save My Layout saves your personal arrangement across job pages. It takes precedence over the shop default for your user. Return to a job to verify the actual result.

Use shop default removes your personal layout. Save as Shop Default is available with the appropriate access and affects users without a personal layout. Reset loads the factory arrangement into the editor; choose a save action to retain it.

Page Layout does not change the tracker rules or the drawing/pricing divider. Hiding a page section also does not revoke access to its records elsewhere.

12. Hide and restore fixture cards

In Fixtures / Cutouts, use Hide on an individual fixture, select multiple fixture checkboxes and choose Hide selected, or use HIDE ALL. These visibility changes are shared by everyone on this job.

Open Hidden fixtures to review what was hidden. Use Show for an individual fixture or Show all to restore the group. Check hidden fixtures before adding a replacement for something that seems missing.

Hiding affects the normal job-detail display. It does not delete the source cutout, remove a quote charge, or erase fixture details and approval history. Confirming details and sending template approvals are separate actions.

13. Resize and inspect the drawing summary

On a wide screen, drag the divider between the drawing and pricing to change their relative space. Focus the divider and use the left/right arrow keys for smaller changes. Home and End move to its 20% and 80% limits; Enter or a double-click resets it to an even split.

The divider width is remembered in this browser for this user, tenant and job. On a phone the panels stack vertically. Scrolling down the job page should leave the drawing's scale steady; use the drawing's own zoom or maximize controls for a closer look.

View Layouts opens the available slab-layout view. Imported images and native countertop drawings can contain different levels of detail. Go To Quote opens the linked quote for its full information and drawing/pricing workflow.

14. Review phase scope, drawings and events

Expand Phases and select the relevant phase. Check its named scope and counters, status, crew, forms and events. The phase drawing appears above its file area and includes the counters assigned to that phase.

Show only phase events makes the phase view more compact; Show all phases restores the fuller view. Check phase events as well as Unphased Events when looking for work. A phase's assigned crew comes from its events.

Use the dedicated scheduling and event-template guides to create or reschedule work. Opening the job page or changing its layout does not schedule crews.

15. Follow linked documents, changes and emails

Use Forms and Files for the job's documents and attachments. Draw board opens a markup/sketch workflow that saves into the job's files. Follow the files and signoff guides for uploads, visibility and customer approvals.

In Quote Summary, Template Correction, Change Order and Separate add-on serve different purposes. Review the corrections guide before revising sold scope. Link another quote attaches a separate order; it is not simply another layout preference.

The Emails section shows conversations associated with the job. System emails use the SlabOS mailing engine by default. Gmail or Outlook is used for system emails only when the sending user has connected that mailbox and enabled Send system emails as me. Connecting alone does not switch system delivery. Personal mailbox synchronization and replies are separate.

Check the result

  • Reopen Trackers and verify the saved rules, colors and job/shop scope. Compare the displayed result with its evidence.
  • Return to a job after saving Page Layout and confirm the order and visible sections. Remember whether you saved a personal view or shop default.
  • Hidden fixture cards can be restored, phase events are accounted for, and the drawing remains readable beside the priced summary.
