Where to start
Settings → CompanyBefore you start
- Open Settings → Company as an owner or administrator for company controls. Other users have their own Profile and Notifications choices; optional features add further controls.
- Check the current saved values before editing. Page-level Save Changes, a card's own Save button and controls that save immediately have different scopes.
- Company defaults do not automatically rewrite every saved quote, job or drawing.
1Find the right tab and save control
Company, Branding, Inventory, Notifications, Defaults, Embed and Profile group different settings. Team, Roles, Templates, Email Templates, Shop Costs, Displays and Integrations are separate sidebar pages.
Changing a page-level field shows Save Changes and an unsaved-changes bar. Those drafts stay while you switch these tabs, and Save Changes submits the page-level fields together. Cards such as Payment Terms keep their own drafts and Save buttons: finish that card before leaving its tab.
2Enter company information and time zone
On Company, enter the name, address, phone, email and website. Default Time Zone applies when an activity is not tied to a shop with its own time zone. Use the browser-time-zone shortcut only when the browser is in the intended zone.
Google Review Link is the destination for the completed project's review button. Google Maps Embed URL is optional and supplies the inline map/reviews area; paste only the src URL from Google's embed code. Leaving it blank uses a link-out card. Save these fields with Save Changes.
3Maintain shop locations
Under Shop Locations, choose Add Location and enter its name and address. Choose a location time zone or leave Use tenant default. Set Default identifies the default location; the trash control removes a location from the draft. Save Changes applies the location list.
Service Cities and Service Provinces / States accept comma-separated entries for location filtering of jobs, quotes and accounts. The location name is included automatically. These shop locations also provide route-planning endpoints. Use Warehouse Map for warehouses and their racks; a location and a rack are different things.
4Understand check-in and tracking options
A location's Geofence check-in applies to crew configured in Team with Job access: after shop check-in. Enable it, use the location address to set the pin, choose the radius in meters and enter comma-separated public Shop Wi-Fi IPs. Use my current IP should be used while connected to that shop's network. Save Changes applies the configuration.
Activity tracking controls time-in-SlabOS reporting on the dashboard. Crew route history controls retention of the day path while crew tracking is active; its description specifies 90-day retention. These are company choices, so review the scope with your team before enabling them.
5Set branding and customer-page appearance
On Branding, upload or remove the Company Logo using that section's controls. Logo actions save immediately. Accent color has a picker, a six-digit hex field, Reset to default and a sample preview.
Plain white background replaces the animated background on customer portal and quote-review pages. Accent color and background use Save Changes. Review a quote or portal afterward; the personal interface theme is a separate choice on Profile.
6Choose units, clock format, currency and tax defaults
On Defaults, choose Imperial or Metric measurement units, Miles or Kilometers, Currency, Tax Rate and its Label. Currency selection does not convert existing prices. Save these page-level choices with Save Changes.
Clock Display switches between 12 hour · 1:30 PM and 24 hour · 13:30 for schedules, jobs and Crew displays. It does not move scheduled times or change time zones. Time-entry controls follow the device's settings.
7Create default folders and numbering
Default Folders has separate lists for Jobs, Quotes and Accounts / Clients. Enter one path per line; Photos/Install creates a subfolder path. Choose Save Default Folders. These paths are applied when new records are created.
Job & Quote Numbering offers Prefix, Next number, Digits and a preview. Next number can advance the sequence; it cannot reissue an existing number. One number for a quote and its job makes a converted job inherit its quote's number, with a fallback if that number is taken. Use Save Numbering.
8Define payment terms and schedules
In Payment Terms, choose Add term, enter its name and optional Deposit %. A blank percentage follows the company Default Deposit. Remove a term with its × control. Use Save Terms to apply changes to the quote terms list.
Choose Payment schedule to add stages to a term. Name each stage and enter percentages for the earlier stages; the final stage is Remaining. Add stage inserts a stage before that remainder. Remove stage or Remove schedule edits the draft. The first stage supplies the deposit. To print the schedule, enable Display payment schedule on a template's Price Summary, then select that term on the quote.
9Set job statuses, client types and quote intake
Global Job Statuses can use each job or phase's activities as its status vocabulary. Clear that choice to enter a custom list, one status per line, and choose Save Job Statuses.
Client Types includes built-in and custom account types. Add or remove lines and use Save Client Types. Quote Intake can require an information window before a new quote's drawing wizard. Choose the required account, salesperson, pricing tier, payment terms or jobsite fields; optionally offer a secondary sales consultant. Save Intake applies it. Custom Quote Info fields join through their Template Builder controls.
10Configure follow-ups, calendar, email and sales goals
Quote Follow-up Nudge is Off or a reminder to the salesperson after a viewed quote stalls for 5, 10 or 15 business days. Calendar Week Starts On sets the normal first column; a saved calendar view can override it. Each card has its own Save.
Email Visibility sets company limits for viewing synced conversations and who can reply. Lead Fields adds named fields whose values belong to each lead. Sales Goals sets monthly won-value and activity targets for the listed sales users. Save each card separately.
AI Request Audit is run from a quote's Customer Emails panel. Its auto re-run option applies to revisions of previously audited quotes and saves immediately when toggled.
11Review drawing, deposit and signing defaults
Default counter depth is entered in inches. Dimension rounding supplies Round To for new drawings; existing drawings retain their saved precision. Both use Save Changes.
Default Deposit (%) supplies the company fallback. Auto-invoice deposit on signing is a separate accounting automation: turning it on authorizes automatic deposit invoice creation at signing. Signing-alert recipient checkboxes have their own Save button. Configure recipients deliberately; selecting them is separate from enabling customer emails.
Where available, Flooring under cabinets saves on click. It determines whether scanned cabinet footprints are included in floor area, and an individual scan can override it. Appliances still receive floor underneath.
12Review inventory defaults and label settings
Inventory contains Scanning, Sticker designer, Printers, Racks & branches and Slabsmith read / write where the inventory rollout is enabled. Those controls use their own inventory settings workflow; use the scanning and Zebra printer guides for setup and label testing.
Crew app price list scopes inventory material pickers, including Crew Add a slab and desktop receiving. A location-specific price list overrides that default; leaving both unset allows all shop materials. This scope and Auto-number new slabs use Save Changes. Serial numbering supports a default and location-specific prefixes, padding and next values; use distinct prefixes for each shop.
Quotes are contracts by default is also on Inventory. It makes portal approval use quote signing; individual quotes can override the default. This setting uses Save Changes.
13Separate automatic messages from personal notifications
Notifications shows owner/admin Automated Notifications for customer and crew messages, plus your own notification preferences below. Read the channel and trigger beside each automatic option, then use Save Changes for those company choices. The current page marks SMS delivery as under review and paused; an enabled toggle does not mean SMS is being delivered.
Personal In-app and Email switches save as you use them. Mute everything disables both channels for all listed types; Bell only enables in-app notifications and disables email. Category controls affect only that group. Notification sound is a browser preference and does not turn the popup off.
14Find website tools and personal settings
Embed opens Website Quote Embed, where website tools have their own configuration and previews. Follow the website-lead workflow for routing and installation. The Client Portal builder is under Templates; it is separate from the website quote embed.
Profile contains mailbox connection and privacy, email signature, profile photo, theme, language, password and task labels. System emails use the SlabOS mailing engine by default. To use your own Gmail or Outlook for them, connect the mailbox and enable Send system emails as me; connecting alone does not switch delivery. Use each control's own save or upload action. Personal task labels are yours; Task Labels (Assignee), when offered to managers, are shared assignment flags.
Legacy and SlabOS themes apply immediately and are saved in this browser. Interface language is also a browser choice; beta languages fall back to English for untranslated content. These choices do not change company branding.
15Reopen and verify the result
Save the section you edited, wait for the result and reopen the page to confirm it. Check a dated activity for time display, a new record for default folders or numbering, and a quote or portal for branding and payment presentation.
Use the dedicated Team, Roles, Templates, Crew App, email, inventory and website guides for the downstream workflows. A saved setting is not proof that a printer, mailbox or external website has been tested.
Check the result
- You used the Save control belonging to the edited fields and confirmed the values after reopening.
- Clock display and time zone are correct on a dated activity.
- New records use the intended defaults; existing records retain their own overrides where supported.
If something looks wrong
- If an edit disappears, check whether its card had a separate Save. Switching tabs is not a save action.
- If times differ by location, check company and location time zones as well as clock display.
- If an old quote looks unchanged, inspect its saved settings and template. New-drawing defaults do not rewrite it.
- If theme or language differs on another device, set it in that browser too.
- For SMS, follow the status shown on the page; do not assume a toggle overrides the delivery pause.
