Forward scheduling against capacity

Plan downstream stages from the booked template and available resources.

The inspected forward-scheduling implementation starts from a template activity and orders downstream fabrication stages. It considers stage duration, historical timing and resource capacity, with fallback values where configuration or history is missing. That connects a job’s production plan to other scheduled work rather than assigning dates in isolation.

The resulting plan still depends on what the shop has configured and recorded. Resource definitions, existing bookings, material readiness and stage dependencies need to match the operation. An apparently free slot can be misleading when a machine, crew or other job has not been represented correctly.

Inputs, outputs and an example to evaluate

Inputs: A shop's standard activity sequence, planned durations and assignment preferences.

Outputs: A set of job activities that can be reviewed and scheduled for the actual project.

Compare the generated activities for two sample jobs using the same production pattern, then identify their different dates and people.

The inspected algorithm is evidence of planning logic, not an observed promise that every real-world constraint is automatically resolved.
