CAD geometry and laser-templating handoffs
SlabOS CAD provides command-driven drafting with TRIM, EXTEND, JOIN, LENGTHEN, CHAMFER and other familiar operations, alongside countertop-specific notches, splash and seven seam modes. The drawing remains connected to quote pricing, slab nesting, 3D and AR. The current CAD page also describes a geometry Check before Print or DXF export, and beta laser Template Mode that brings measured points directly onto the canvas.
Inputs this workflow uses
Measured geometry, permitted DXF files and project context.
Outputs to evaluate
Editable CAD drawings, saved revisions and checked shop output.
A representative demonstration
Bring a dimensioned sample drawing through import, editing and output, comparing scale and a known reference length.
Bring a representative job to a SlabOS demo and see how this capability fits your shop’s work.
Scope and availability
Laser Template Mode is beta and uses a USB connection through a compatible browser. A Check gate and DXF export do not establish support for every laser device, CNC machine or downstream CAM configuration.
