Countertop CAD and laser-template DXF import in SlabOS

SlabOS brings DXF countertop geometry into its drawing workflow, connecting a digital template with editing, quoting and downstream fabrication preparation. This guide explains the handoff between the imported file, reviewed dimensions and the intended drawing revision.

Bring measured geometry into the quote without losing the commercial context.

The template-correction workflow accepts a field DXF so measured geometry can be compared with the quote. The operator reviews units, layer translation and detected outlines before confirming the import. The remaining work is to reconcile the new shapes with the intended areas, materials and edge details.

Layer interpretation matters. A generic outline may duplicate dedicated finished-edge or splash layers, while unusual entities may need extra review. Existing pieces moved aside remain real quote geometry until removed. The final drawing should contain the accepted scope once, with a traceable comparison to the earlier revision.
