Countertop estimating and pricing software in SlabOS

SlabOS countertop estimating connects drawing quantities with material costs, fabrication charges and customer pricing levels. This guide explains how colors, thicknesses, units and pricing rules contribute to a quote, with links to drawing, supplier price-list import and proposal documentation.

Make the rate, unit and override behind a quote easy to explain.

SlabOS price lists combine materials, color and thickness choices, groups, named price levels and fabrication or installation rules. The estimator can select the applicable material and labor level while the shop maintains its underlying defaults. That makes a rate explainable in terms of the customer, material and work being quoted.

The order of overrides matters. A color or thickness rate can take priority over a group fallback, and a material-specific fabrication rule can differ from the general rate. Units matter too: cost, selling price, per-slab pricing and per-square-foot inputs are not interchangeable. The operating guide explicitly distinguishes markup from margin.

Inputs, outputs and an example to evaluate

Inputs: Materials, colors, thicknesses, pricing levels, fabrication charges and permitted supplier files.

Outputs: A maintained catalog and quote lines based on the selected geometry and pricing context.

Use one sample drawing to compare two customer price levels, then show a reviewed vendor update and the resulting quote.

Scope to understand

Customer price levels, material rates and permitted overrides determine the proposed selling price. Review the intended rate and quantity basis before issuing the quote.

Where this fits in the SlabOS workflow

How does SlabOS connect countertop measurements to a quote?

SlabOS combines the countertop drawing with configured material and fabrication pricing. The quote reflects the quantities, price-list rules and other charges selected for the work. This puts geometry and commercial terms in the same estimating workflow. Review material, edge and service lines together so the customer-facing proposal explains the scope being sold.

How can a shop check square-foot pricing versus slab-based pricing?

Use the same sample job to trace the selected pricing mode, its quantity basis and the configured rate through to the quote total. A material quantity expressed in square feet is different from a number of slabs. A worked example should make that distinction visible and show which rule was applied. Review the result before sending the customer proposal.

Current product capabilities

The website widget uses the SlabOS drawing engine and the shop’s price list on the fabricator’s own website. It produces a draft quote with geometry and customer context; the shop chooses whether to show a price, a range or a review-first experience. Read the Website Quoting page →

The platform page connects countertop estimating and drawing with scheduling, inventory, crews, customer communication and financial work. The linked capability guides explain individual inputs and outputs within that broader workflow. Read the Features page →
