Predicted remnant yield

Understand the estimate before treating an offcut as reusable stock.

The SlabOS feature list includes predicted remnant yield. For a fabricator, the decision is whether the proposed layout leaves material that is both geometrically useful and operationally worth keeping. That question depends on more than unused area.

The existing operating documentation supplies the surrounding workflow: saved slab layouts, consumption, a separately identified remnant, and yield reporting with coverage and exclusions. The next documentation layer needs to connect the prediction itself to those saved results, including the definition of usable remainder and the assumptions applied to the source slab.

Inputs, outputs and an example to evaluate

Inputs: Individual slabs, dimensions, material identity, location and countertop pieces.

Outputs: Inventory records, planned layouts, stock holds and applicable remnant records.

Follow a sample slab from receipt into a quoted layout and show its subsequent consumption and remnant history.

Scope to understand

The prediction’s formula and measured error were not established by the reviewed public guides. This article does not claim a verified yield improvement.

Current product capabilities

The nesting page connects automatic placement of the drawn pieces to actual inventory slabs and the shop’s price lists. It describes re-nesting when the drawing changes. Yield and runtime comparisons still need a defined test dataset and retained output. Read the Slab Nesting page →

The warehouse page connects buildings, bays and racks with slab inventory, quotes and purchasing context. Per-bay capacity indicators, phone searches and printable floor plans make recorded stock location useful beyond an inventory table. Read the Warehouse Map page →
