Warehouse maps and bay-level inventory
Connect the stock record to the place the team should look.
SlabOS warehouse maps organize the shop floor and associate inventory with rack or bay locations. The guide documents searching by identifiers such as serial, color, lot or job and narrowing stock by availability, reservation and remnant status.
Location and availability answer different questions. A piece can be physically present in a bay and already reserved for a job. Search matches, total rack contents and currently visible results also describe different populations. The floor team needs to inspect the individual slab rather than infer its status from a map count.
Inputs, outputs and an example to evaluate
Inputs: Warehouse layout, named storage areas, capacities and inventory placement.
Outputs: A visual location reference connected to physical stock.
Identify a sample slab on the map, locate its rack and confirm its tag against the inventory record.
Scope to understand
The map records inventory placement. It does not establish continuous GPS or automatic physical tracking of every slab movement.
