Choose the format

Give every label a job.

Start in Settings → Templates → Piece Labels. Choose a face, edge or install label and set its width, height, margin, orientation and print resolution. The design belongs to the label format; the piece information comes from the job when you prepare a batch.

  • Face labels keep the piece drawing and identity together.
  • Edge labels fit information into a narrower strip.
  • Install labels can carry the job and site details the crew needs.

Build the layout

Make the important fields easy to find.

Arrange job number, job name, material, thickness, edge details and dimensions around the drawing. Add a QR element or a QC line where the crew can use it. A label needs to stay legible at its printed size, so review the layout with the actual paper format in mind.

  • Choose fields for the work the label supports.
  • Keep drawings and QR codes clear of nearby text.
  • Save the design so the shop can use it again.

Prepare on the job

A design becomes a real label batch.

Open Piece Labels on the job, review the captured pieces and prepare the required labels with a saved design. The designer preview uses example values; preparing a job’s labels checks real drawing and field content. Review the prepared output before printing and keep the current piece identity attached through the handoff.

  • Select the pieces and label design.
  • Check long field values, drawings and barcode density.
  • Connect printing to the current job and piece revision.

Questions about Piece Label Designer

Where do I create a label design?

Open Settings → Templates → Piece Labels. Face, edge and install labels have their own starting formats. Capture pieces and prepare their labels from the job’s Piece Labels page.

Can the label include a piece drawing and fabrication details?

Yes. The designer includes drawing, job and piece fields, material, dimensions, edge information, QR and QC elements. Choose the information appropriate to that label’s role.

Is the designer preview the final job label?

The designer uses example data. Preparing labels on the job applies real values and drawings, so review that output before printing.

Are piece labels the same as slab inventory labels?

They serve different records. Piece labels identify the physical countertop pieces for a job; slab inventory labels identify stock in the warehouse.
