A total.
With a trail.
A useful dashboard lets you explain the number. Read each measure in its date and salesperson context, inspect the quote records behind it, and carry that context into the next follow-up.
From the sales dashboard to the next follow-up
Read a sales total in its date and salesperson context, inspect the underlying quotes, and follow the record into the next conversation.

Read the measure
Know what the number includes.
The sales overview separates live open quotes from period-based measures. In the walkthrough, open quotes are live and ignore the selected range, while quotes created and won figures use their defined period logic. Read the metric’s meaning before comparing the cards.
- Open quotes show the current open work.
- Check the date basis for period measures.
- Win rate uses won divided by won plus lost.
Inspect the records
Set the filters you mean.
The film explicitly sets salesperson and created-date filters in the quote list. Do not assume that opening a list from a dashboard card carries every filter with it. Review the list’s actual filters, then apply them temporarily or save a view when that is the useful repeatable workflow.
- Confirm the salesperson filter.
- Check both ends of the intended date range.
- Review the records against the measure you are explaining.
Act on the detail
Turn the number into a conversation.
Open the relevant quote to inspect the customer and the next step. A total describes a group of records; the quote gives the salesperson the detail needed for a call or follow-up. Keep the dashboard’s context clear as you move from analysis into the customer workflow.
- Open the quote you intend to work on.
- Read its current status and customer context.
- Continue the follow-up from the record.
Questions about Salesperson Dashboards
Does the date range change the live open-quotes card?
In the demonstrated sales overview, open quotes are a live measure and ignore the range. Period measures have their own date logic.
How is win rate explained in the film?
It is won divided by won plus lost within the measure’s defined context. Read that context before comparing it with a differently filtered quote list.
Will the quote list automatically have all the card’s filters?
Do not assume it will. The walkthrough sets salesperson and created-date filters explicitly before reviewing the records.
Can I keep a useful set of filters?
The view workflow offers a temporary session view or a saved view. Choose the option that matches how you intend to use those filters again.
