Build a branded proposal template

Build a branded quote template in SlabOS with your logo, project fields, the quote's drawing, pricing and terms, then preview the same quote as a Standard or a Premium PDF with a cover page and intro letter.

Read the clip: text and visual description

SlabOS: Build a branded proposal template. Video transcript (no voice-over; all information is on screen).

Your quote looks generic? No logo, no cover, no brand.

In SlabOS, under Templates, build a Quote & Order template:
Brand: the company header and your logo.
Fields: Quote/Order Info and Project Address.
Drawing: the quote's 2D drawing.
Pricing: the Price Summary, with the quote's lines and totals.
Terms: Terms & Conditions and Customer Sign-Off.
Page Break: forces a new PDF page.

Style: the active style can be Standard, Raw or Premium. Premium adds a cover page, an intro letter and an accent color.
The cover page shows your logo, "Proposal", Prepared for (Kitchen Remodel, Austin, TX), Prepared by (Your Shop), the date and the quote number.

Same quote, two formats: the Standard template prints 2 pages; the Premium template prints 4 pages.
Preview quote: the PDF preview shows page 1, page 2, page 3 and page 4 of quote Q-1042 with the Premium template.
PDF page 4 of 4: Price Summary for the Kitchen area.
Quartz, 57.2 square feet: $4,576.00. Fab and install: $1,430.00. Sink cutout: $250.00.
Subtotal $6,256.00. Tax 8.25%: $516.12. Total: $6,772.12. Same total on both formats.

Build the document

Start with the blocks.

The Quote & Order template combines company branding, quote information, project address, drawing, price summary, terms and customer sign-off. Put the information in the order the customer needs to understand the project, and use page breaks where the document needs a deliberate transition.

  • Identify the customer’s project clearly.
  • Keep the drawing near the explanation it supports.
  • Review pricing and terms before sending.

Choose the style

A cover when the job calls for it.

The demonstrated styles are Standard, Raw and Premium. Premium adds a cover page, introduction letter and accent color. In the clip, the cover carries the logo, proposal title, prepared-for and prepared-by details, date and quote number.

  • Use the company’s actual branding.
  • Choose a style that suits the proposal.
  • Keep the document readable when printed.

Preview the actual quote

The format changes. The numbers follow the quote.

Preview the template with a quote so its real drawing, lines and totals can be inspected. The example compares a two-page Standard output with a four-page Premium output and retains the same quote total. That page count is an example, not a fixed document limit.

  • Inspect each PDF page.
  • Check page breaks and long content.
  • Confirm the same current quote is used for a format comparison.

Use the saved template

Repeat the presentation.

A saved design provides a consistent starting point for later quotes. Keep customer details and commercial facts in the quote record, then use the template to present them. Piece Label designs have their own dedicated workflow for physical fabrication labels.

  • Recheck templates after a major design change.
  • Keep terms and signature content current.
  • Use the portal for the customer-facing document workflow.

Proposal Templates questions

Does Premium change the quote price?

It changes the document presentation. The demonstration uses the same quote and total in both formats.

Can I control where a new PDF page starts?

The template builder includes a Page Break block.

Is this also the Piece Label designer?

Piece Labels is a separate template area for face, edge and installation labels.
